Surrounded by 4,000 hectares of green tea estates, Maruei is located at 300 meters above sea level, overlooking Ise Bay. "Ise-cha" green tea leaves, harvested in the area of Ise Bay, have more than an 800 year history and hold a 50% market share of both types of shade grown tea called "Gyokuro" and "Kabuse-cha".

"Gyokuro" and "Kabuse-cha" are differentiated products in terms of their cultivation. The leaves are covered to block out sunlight for 20 days before harvesting. This process produces more amino acid and theanine, forming a "mild in taste" and a "bright greenish in color", which is not found in other products.

Ever since we established a state-of-the-art facility, corresponding to HACCP procedures (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point), we have been providing the community with green tea leaves. This facility has successfully decreased bacteria to nearly zero % and has maximally controlled the possibility of cross-contamination. With our policy, "safety and reliability", we continue to challenge new concepts in order to supply higher-quality products to our customers.
